Today is the day that ‘Lily Shippen’ officially goes live and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve dreamed of owning my own company from an early age. I have been inspired by my parents who both managed and owned successful businesses. Watching them be so passionate about what they were doing and credible in their industries made me want to follow in their footsteps. After taking the decision not to go to University, due to increasing fees, I knew that I wanted to work my way up the corporate ladder, but didn’t know exactly what industry I wanted to work in.
After working in sales (Financial Services) for a number of years, I moved down to London in search of a new and exciting challenge. I don’t think anybody ever dreams of being a recruiter, but I feel lucky that I found my niche and gained experience working for such a reputable company. It was hard work but I gained invaluable training and experience along the way.
I took the decision to start my own business at the end of 2015 and I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement that I have been shown by family, friends and colleagues. I now can’t wait to get started! I truly believe that secretarial and support staff are the pivotal part of an organisation and believe that there is a gap in the market for a company that really goes above and beyond for their clients and candidates. I don’t want ‘Lily Shippen’ to be the biggest recruitment firm, but I do want it to be the best!
