You are the reason that the EA ‘stereotype’ exists – so do something about it!

In the corporate world, the term "personal branding" often evokes images of purposeful and charismatic CEOs, influential thought leaders, social media influencers, and celebrity business profiles such as Steven Bartlett.

However, in today's fast-paced, digital-centric world, the significance of maintaining a strong online presence is invaluable for all of us — including Executive Assistants.

It is my belief, that in the fast-paced world of 2024, visibility is key and that personal branding empowers professionals to amplify their visibility within their organisation and beyond.

Whether it's through thoughtfully curated LinkedIn profiles, engaging professional networks, or actively participating in industry events, a strong personal brand elevates your visibility and becomes a tool for differentiation, ensuring that you carve out a specific identity that resonates with your professional identity and capability.

That said, I think there is a crucial element that many of us overlook with personal branding.

IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE PRESENT.

Personal branding is an investment into your future, actively managing your personal brand and positioning yourself (in your professional space), is your digital version of your old fashioned ‘professional calling card’.

Whether you want to have a voice in your industry, drive change for the next generation and/or attract attention of Recruiters, Head-hunters and influential figures, personal branding is not just about self-promotion or vanity!

It is about owning your own narrative, leveraging your strengths, and positioning yourself for success, just like any other professional, in an ever-evolving professional landscape.

So – why are you not doing it??!

As an Executive Assistant, your personal brand is one of your most valuable assets – nurture it, and cultivate it, and if you do not know how to do it, find out about our purposefully designed course: Strategic Personal Branding for Business Support Professionals.

If you really want to do your bit in changing the narrative around the role (YOUR ROLE), and better articulate what you do (to those who need educating), then do something about it.

It is up to you.
