Whether you are celebrating what should have been your wedding day, hen or stag do, a small or big win at work, or simply the fact that you have managed to get through yet another week of lockdown, there are plenty of local businesses in and around Manchester who are offering delivery services of your favourite tipple!

With our favourite haunts remaining shut due to Government guidance, nights in have, unfortunately, become the new nights out! COVID-19 has had a huge affect on the hospitality industry, as well as many others, however, several creative individuals behind some of our favourite spots have implemented socially distant delivery services in order to adapt within the current climate. Regardless of your reason for celebrating, these local businesses would be grateful for your support during these uncertain times and we have listed some of our favourites below!

The Drinks Drop – This is a new, not-for-profit cocktail delivery service which has been launched by Highball Brands in order to support local bars that are shut due to lockdown. The Drinks Drop has paired with a number of our favourite bars such as Crazy Pedros, Liars Club, Cottonopolis, The Jane Eyre and Almost Famous to name but a few, so that you can order top quality cocktails made by the professionals straight to your door. The cocktails contain Highball Brands’ spirits such as Takamaka Rum and Dangerous Dom Mezcal and come chilled and ready to drink in reusable single serve pouches. The Drinks Drop are currently delivering to the following postcodes: M1, M11, M12, M13, M14, M15, M16, M17, M18, M19, M2, M20, M21, M24, M25, M27, M28, M29, M3, M30, M32, M35, M4, M40, M43, M44, M5, M50, M6, M60, M61, M7, M8, M9, M99, SK4 and SK5. All profits from the sale of cocktails are distributed evenly to the bars taking part in order to help them and their staff during lockdown.

La Bandera – As previously mentioned in our blog discussing Manchester restaurants delivering during lockdown, La Bandera is now also offering a great selection of wines as well as delicious food delivered straight to your door. This restaurant has an extensive wine list and the owner really knows his stuff! The delivery list features wines from all over the world, as well those from smaller, independent wineries within Spain and the Canary Islands. If you, like a few of the Lily Shippen team, were due to be going away during Easter or over the summer and are looking to recreate a night in Spain then this is the place for you! Tapas and Spanish wine – what’s not to like!

Vinyard MCR – Based at Hatch on Oxford Road, Vinyard is offering a free delivery service on orders within a six mile radius of the city centre, as well as covering certain areas of Stockport and Cheshire. Although the minimum order is £60, this shouldn’t be a problem as their mixed cases (a minimum of 6 bottles per case) start at £62.50. If you are looking at doing a wine tasting night at home or are simply searching for some new wines to try, then Vinyard is a brilliant local business to support.

Cocktails At Home By Bacardi – Bacardi and Deliveroo Editions have joined forces with some of Manchester’s most popular bars to bring you Cocktails At Home By Bacardi. Customers can pre-order premium cocktails from their virtual bar, which features a rotating menu containing drinks made with Bacardi brands which changes every 3 weeks. So far, the menus have featured bars such as Albert Schloss, Cultureplex, Grind, Cottonopolis and MOJO. The initiative has been set up in order to support city centre bars and their staff during lockdown and all profits go to the teams/bars featured on the menus. If you love to try new cocktails and are looking for a way to support the hospitality industry and your favourite bars during lockdown then this is a great way to do so!

Isca Wines – This Levenshulme based company offer provisions and natural wines and are currently offering a free delivery service to M19 and delivery at a small charge to M1, M4, M12-M21 and SK4-SK6. Isca Wines offer a brilliant selection of wines, most of which you wouldn’t be able to find on the shelves of your go-to supermarket. Another great selling point is the fact that, as well wine, they are also delivering a selection of provisions such as delicious cheeses, chocolate and brownies. If you are wanting to treat yourself and indulge in a cheese and wine night, then look no further!

Club Vino – If you are looking for something a little different then Club Vino is a Wine Tasting Club which you can take part in from home. All you need to do is order one of their ‘Home Tasting Experiences’ on their website and you will get your package delivered to your door. The experiences on offer currently are White Wine, Red Wine, Mixed Wine and Sparkling Wine. Each experience contains 6 full sized (75cl) bottles, tasting notes, glass markers and an online video which guides you through the wines and explains the story behind each bottle. All the bottles on offer are carefully selected from boutique, family owned wine producers around the world and each wine is chosen to represent a particular style, climate and heritage. Prices start at £110 and include free delivery in mainland UK within 4 working days.

Lockdown Liquor & Co – Lockdown Liquor & Co was created and set up during the pandemic and their aim is to ‘help bring some joy and happiness during these unsettling times’. They are offering pre-mixed batch cocktails and are contributing proceeds made to help raise funds for NHS Charities Together, as well as supporting NHS staff and volunteers who are caring for Covid-19 patients. As it stands they are offering two pre-mixed batch cocktails to chose from; the Picante and the Pepino. Each order contains a 500 ml pre-mixed bottle of cocktail which should give you approximately 4 servings. The bottles are priced at £25 plus delivery and the company currently deliver across the UK and Ireland. Lockdown Liquor & Co is a brilliant way to try a delicious new cocktail whilst also supporting our incredible front-line workers!
